Since 1987, Spelling Bee of Canada (SBOC), a not-for-profit grassroots organization, has been promoting children and youth literacy with the mission to enrich the children and youth learning experience and engage schools and the community at large in an annual education process. Our goal, with the support of, schools, student literacy representative, sponsors, parents, chapter presidents and volunteers is to encourage young people to expand their vocabulary, communication skills and self-confidence, by providing a foundation for future scholastic achievements through the theme of Education and Perseverance = Success.
SBOC provides successful regional community- and school-focused literacy programs for children and youth (ages 6 – 14 years). Every child that participates in the spelling bee program is a winner
just by participating.
